This decadent antique Victorian locket has been created from a 22k gold full spade Guinea coin c. 1795 and an engraved slab of regal carnelian with intaglio initials (likely “GAL.”) The fluting on the edge of the coin is emulated along the rim of the other portions of the locket, adding a pleasing cohesion. The ghostly likeness of King George III adorns the interior of the locket, and an ornate crest is illustrated across the back. A hinged bale mounted to the top of the locket allows for a wide range of chains to present this robust and versatile slice of history.
